At Apecho Foundation, we believe that every person deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to face life’s challenges with hope. Every day, we meet individuals whose stories remind us why our work matters, and Edith’s story is one of them.
Edith is a 22 year old expectant mother whose journey into motherhood has been filled with uncertainty. During her pregnancy, she was abandoned and left to face one of the most important moments of her life without the support she desperately needed. With no baby clothes, blankets, or other essential items to prepare for the arrival of her child, she found herself in an incredibly difficult situation.

The Power of Compassion
When Edith reached out to Apecho Foundation, we listened to her story and immediately recognized the urgency of her need. Our team visited her home to better understand her circumstances and see how we could provide meaningful support.
During our visit, we learned more about the family behind her story. Edith lives with her father, who has raised his children on his own ever since their mother left the family. Despite the many challenges he has faced, he has worked tirelessly to care for and support his children as a single parent. His resilience and dedication were evident, even in the face of limited resources.
Meeting Edith and her father reminded us that behind every request for help is a family doing their best to overcome difficult circumstances. Their courage and determination inspired us, and it strengthened our commitment to stand beside vulnerable families during their most challenging moments.

At Apecho Foundation, we believe that no mother should have to welcome a new life without the basic necessities needed for a safe and dignified beginning. Every child deserves to be received with love, care, and hope, and every mother deserves the reassurance that she is not alone.
Edith’s story is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. By identifying vulnerable families, visiting them in their communities, and responding with compassion, we continue to bring hope where it is needed most.
Together, we can ensure that mothers like Edith receive the support they need and that every child is given a brighter start in life.
